Bring your dog to the mountains
Dogs make unbeatable companions for both hiking and cross-country skiing. Here is some useful information for anyone planning or having already booked accommodation with us and wishing to bring their dog to Ramundberget.
Dog on site
We offer a selection of pet-friendly cabins, hotel rooms and apartments where you can stay with your dog. When booking your accommodation, you can see whether pets are allowed. Grytan Kichen & Bar is a dog-friendly restaurant. There is a designated dog-friendly section, so please let us know in advance when booking your table. In summer, dogs are also welcome at Restaurang Tusen and in the outdoor seating area at Mor Britas.
Dogs on the lift
Dogs are welcome to ride the lift both up and down in summer and winter! It’s a perfect way for you and your dog to quickly reach the open mountain above the treeline. Taking your dog on the lift is at your own risk, and we only recommend it if you are confident that your dog will sit still and cope well with the ride. If you are unsure, there are trails up the mountain that you can walk with your dog in both winter and summer.
Dogs in the mountains
Under Sweden’s right of public access, dogs must be kept on a leash from 1 March to 20 August, as wildlife is particularly vulnerable to disturbance during this period. At all other times, you must keep your dog under close supervision to ensure it does not harm or disturb wildlife.
In summer, there are plenty of babbling streams in Ramundberget where your dog can easily drink fresh water. This means you do not need to carry several litres of water on your hike, allowing both you and your dog to enjoy the outing even more. Remember to choose a route length that suits your dog’s stamina. The weather can change quickly in the mountains, so we recommend always bringing food and equipment for both you and your dog.
