The waffle hut in the heart of the mountains

In Ösjödalen, three kilometres from the top station of Fjällgårdsbanan, you’ll find Ösjöstugan surrounded by the area’s distinctive mountains. Stop by for crispy waffles, a light lunch or coffee and cake during your cross-country skiing or snowmobile trip.

Opening hours 

At an altitude of 900 metres between Ramundberget and Bruksvallarna, Ösjöstugan offers the cosiest break in the mountains. Sit against the cabin wall and soak up the sun when the weather allows, or step inside and warm up by the fire. Four-legged friends are of course welcome inside too!

Ösjöstugan can be reached via Funäsfjällen’s cross-country ski and snowmobile trails during the winter season, weather and snow conditions permitting. It usually opens for the season around week 7, depending on snow conditions.

Getting here

From Ramundberget, take Fjällgårdsbanan up to the top station. From here, groomed cross-country ski trails and a marked ski touring trail lead to Ösjöstugan, approximately 3 km away. Download the “Spår och leder i Funäsfjällen” app for current trail conditions. If you are travelling by snowmobile, Skoterleden passes right by the cabin.

From Ösjöstugan, you can either return to Ramundberget the same way or continue skiing towards Bruksvallarna. From Bruksvallarna, several trails run through the valley back towards Ramundberget.

Take the lift up the mountain

You can take the lift with your cross-country skis—an easy way to head straight out onto the beautiful mountain trails. Your dog is also welcome to ride the lift with you, at your own risk.

  • You need a valid lift pass to use the lifts.
  • Tickets (known as Fjällgårdstur) can be purchased on site at Guest Services or online.
  • You can keep your skis on as usual when getting on and off; the lift attendant will help you if needed.
