Frequently asked questions
What can I expect?
During the clinic, we combine indoor theory sessions with practical outdoor exercises. This gives you both a solid understanding and hands-on experience of what to do in real-life situations. Topics we will cover include:
- Why avalanches start and how they form
- Signs and warning signals to look for
- What to do during a rescue operation
- Essential avalanche safety skills that you can build on in future courses
Do I need to bring my own equipment?
All necessary avalanche safety equipment is included. If you have your own equipment, feel free to bring it along and practise with it. You will need warm clothing for the practical session. We recommend bringing:
- Outdoor clothing (that is easy to remove indoors)
- Gloves, hat and boots
